Services
BACH and Boyertown Area Multi-Service work together in a variety of ways to support the families who live at the BACH house. The goal of the two organizations is to ensure that the families are provided for while at the BACH house. They do this by providing three key services.
HousingBACH is a unique program in the Boyertown area--there are NO other programs in the Boyertown area whose primary focus is to assist the local homeless population, and NO other transitional housing programs locally.
The BACH program provides a warm, safe home for the homeless or nearly homeless. Families may live at the BACH house for a period up to three years. During that time, they will be given more than just shelter; they will receive the support and resources they need to build a better life for their family. SupportWhile the parents do work and must pay a program fee, BACH and Multi-Service work together to help the families meet their basic and unique needs as they arise. Past assistance has included child care, counseling, transportation, furniture, school needs for both children and parents, medical needs, and special needs for the children.
Skills TrainingWhile living at the BACH house, all parents have been enrolled in some form of educational or training program. These have included college courses, legal secretary training, nursing programs, and classes to improve basic skills. Most have successfully completed their courses while living at the house and, upon leaving, have been able to improve the quality of life for both themselves and their children.
We're proud to say that our clients have gone on to become successful professionals: a massage therapist, a trainer of trainers in the hair coloring industry, a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, an RN, and a social worker, among others. |
